Taking you back to the heart of India

Indian Summer opens in Dubai

When you think of Indian cuisine, a spicy curry might come to mind. Indian Summer will make you rethink about those favourite Indian dishes, as its offers its unique take on Indian cuisine.
The newly opened restaurant is located in the heart of Karama on 17th Street. With a spacious, chic interior and a separate banquet hall which can be booked by guests, it is already grabbing attention in one of the city’s most central locations. There is also a private dining room for guests who may prefer the same.
The owners of Indian Summer are no strangers to the service industry. With nine restaurants in Saudi Arabia alone and one in Sri Lanka, they decided it was time to bring their food to the UAE. They’ve been in this business since 2005. Today the family run business is moving two steps ahead with the new generation.

We sample some outstanding starters like crispy chicken and chilly paneer. One can choose from a variety of chicken and meat kababs such as kalmi kabab and chicken Irani kabab which are paired with yoghurt chutney and a variety of other sauces.

“When we decided to open a restaurant in Dubai we wanted a location which would appeal to Emiratis as well as multicultural people. When we first saw this venue we fell in love with the location,” says the owner adding that they are looking at expanding gradually. Their first venture in Dubai was marked by the presence of Miss India Worldwide 2015, Stephanie Lohale who seemed happy to mingle with the crowd in Dubai.

Indian Summer has plans to offer guests some special treats for the festive season. They also want to celebrate the UAE’s National Day in a unique fashion. They offer a unique ladies night every Tuesday. There are a number of Oriental dishes also on offer. The broccoli lollypop sounds particularly intriguing.

Undoubtedly it is food that brings people together. Each of the dishes prepared at Indian Summer from the traditional butter chicken to mouth-watering rasmalai will take you back to the heart of India where food is celebrated for all its glory.

Indian Summer Restaurant is located in Khafajy Building, Zabeel Road, Karama. Tel: 04 342 6760.
