Rejuvenation redefined

It has been a special summer but what made it even brighter was a staycation at Centro Barsha. After a particularly busy week, a relaxing hotel stay was a heaven sent.

Centro Barsha is centrally located and about a six-minute walk from Sharaf DG metro station. It is just 8km from the Mall of the Emirates as well. The lobby of the hotel bears a stylish, uncluttered look. We were greeted by Faisan who was extremely efficient and kind. We could not wait to see our room.
Located on the 6th floor, our room had an attached suite. It truly felt like home. Not one, but two television sets spelt ‘excitement’ for my family. Finally, there would be no arguments on what we could watch on the telly.
Managed by the Rotana group, Centro Barsha pitches itself as a business hotel. The pricing is modest and there are 245 rooms in all. The hotel has a swimming pool which was the highlight of my stay. Situated on the rooftop, with a separate outdoor seating area, besides a few deck chairs, the pool had me hooked. The views of Dubai’s setting sun, coupled with enigmatic music is an experience I won’t easily forget. The hotel offers swimming lessons as well. It is a pity that we don’t live close enough to avail of this facility.

When we had our fill of the pool we went to the ground floor to C.taste, the buffet venue of the hotel. They host theme night specials and we were in for a treat as well. Sea food, shepherd’s pie, paella, fried fish, roast beef and roasted potatoes were just some of the tempting dishes at hand. Salads, sushi and soup was also on offer. Of course, my main attention was stolen by the dessert counter which had an array of fruits and cakes in its selection.
After a hearty meal it was time to return to our cosy room. Immaculate white sheets made for a cosy bed and we were in dreamland in no time.
The breakfast buffet the next morning was equally interesting. It is on from 6 to 10 a.m. but on Fridays this is extended to 11 a.m. An omelette station coupled with freshly cooked sausages, baked beans and a variety of breads made this the perfect way to start the day. Of course there was a fine selection of jams and even freshly drawn honey on offer too. The children went straight for the donuts after eating a few fruits.
Parul, the attendant of the day was ever so helpful and ensured that the children got some delicious hot chocolate which delighted them no end. There is also a C.deli where fruits and other necessary items can be purchased any time of the day.

The hotel was kind enough to grant us a late check out. We had ample time to do simple things like read the newspaper, unwind some more and forget that home and work are a few hours away.
This is one hotel that gets a superior rating for its welcoming ambience and well-trained staff. Jasmine Arika, Cluster Director of Marketing and Communications, went an extra step to ensure our stay went well. I’d certainly recommend Centro Barsha for your next stay.
